Whoopi Goldberg Knocks JD Vance Over His 'Disconnected' Taylor Swift Take

Whoopi Goldberg knocked Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) on Thursday for being one of the “many snowflakes” upset by Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democrat Kamala Harris for president.

The “View” co-host noted that Republicans aren’t pleased with the pop star as she tossed to a clip of Vance, the GOP vice presidential nominee, giving his two cents on Swift.

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans — whether they like her music or [are] fans of hers or not — are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans,” Vance said in the Fox News clip from Wednesday.

He continued: “When grocery prices go up by 20%, it hurts most Americans. It doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift. When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire.”

Goldberg, in response, declared that Vance doesn’t know “what affects” Swift and doesn’t “know about her money.”

“Shut up, JD,” said Goldberg, who quickly apologized and told Vance to “stop talking.”

She later added: “The reason I apologized is because I hate when people tell me, pundits tell me to shut up. So it’s not a nice thing to say. So I do take it back. But the implication is, hush.”

The “View” co-host noted that the endorsement from Swift — who has around 284 million Instagram followers and seemingly sparked a surge in visits to a voter information page after backing the Democrat — is “really freaking” out Republicans.

Goldberg’s comments arrived after Swift continued to call on fans to register to vote at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday.
