Today in Politics: PM Modi to campaign in Maharashtra, Telangana; Amit Shah to cover Assam, Bengal, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address public rallies in Madha, Osmanabad and Latur of Maharashtra on Tuesday before flying over to Telangana, where he will address rallies in Zaheerabad and Alladurg, both of which are in Sangareddy district.

The BJP secured four seats in the southern state in 2019. Barring Soyam Bapurao (Adilabad), the party has re-nominated its MPs from their respective constituencies. That includes Telangana BJP chief and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy from Secunderabad, national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar from Karimnagar, and MP D Arvind from Nizamabad.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has set a target of winning double-digit seats out of the total 17 in Telangana. The senior party leader is scheduled to address a press conference at 10 am at the state BJP office in Guwahati, Assam. Afterwards, he will address a public rally at noon at Bishnupur Football Ground, Pathri, Rasulpur, Katwa in West Bengal, before flying off to his home state Gujarat, where he will address a public rally at 7.30 pm at the panchayat office in Naroda Gaon, Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address public rallies in Khandwa and Barwani of Madhya Pradesh. The event in Khandwa, where the party has renominated sitting MP Gyaneswar Patil, is scheduled to begin at 12.50 pm while the one in Barwani in the Khargone Lok Sabha constituency, where too sitting MP Gajendra Umrao Singh Patel has been renominated, is scheduled to start at 2.20 pm.
