Kate Middleton Says She's Completed Chemotherapy In Video Update

Kate Middleton shared a video on social media on Monday announcing that she has completed chemotherapy after revealing in March that she had cancer.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” reads her post.

Middleton narrates the accompanying video, which shows her with her husband and three kids exploring and playing in the woods, using the same language as in her post.

The Princess of Wales says the last nine months have been “incredibly tough” on her family and that cancer is “complex, scary and unpredictable” and has made her and her husband, Prince William, reflect and be grateful.

Her focus now is remaining cancer-free, she says, adding that she is looking forward to going back to work and attending more public engagements in the coming months.

“Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,” the post reads. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

When the Princess of Wales first announced she had cancer, she explained that she’d had major abdominal surgery in January for a condition doctors originally thought was noncancerous, but tests later showed it was cancer. She immediately began chemotherapy, but she didn’t disclose what kind of cancer she had.
