BJP beats Modi trumpet, campaign song focuses on PM, schemes

FIRMLY IN poll mode now,the BJP released its official campaign video and slogan at a first-time voters’ conclave organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM), which was all about re-electing Narendra Modi to power.

In a press note released with the video, the BJP said the campaign had “emerged organically from among the people” and spoke of “mass sentiment”. The theme of “this new campaign also complements the ongoing national fervour building in consonance with the Modi Ki Guarantee mass movement,” the press note added. The main themes of the song ‘Tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain… (That is why everyone chooses Modi)’.

If the BJP’s earlier rallying call was Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, the refrain of the latest campaign song — “Sapne nahin hakikat bunte hain, tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain (He weaves reality, not dreams. That’s why everyone chooses Modi)” — is delivering on that promise. The visuals throughout the song tie up this idea. The opening shot is of women cooking on earthen stoves, with no electricity, with the corresponding vocals saying that for years, the country was “behaal (in a bad condition)”, until the “pragati (progress)” of the Modi era kept its “vaada (promise)”. The visuals then go on to illustrate these promises — such as delivering on mega infrastructure projects and successful implementation of the UPI system, among others.

A line in the song says that the PM thinks of “Bharat” as his own “maata (mother)” and describes the PM as choosing “kaam (work)” over “naam(name)” – the reason the world “listens” to him.
