Today in Politics: PM Modi to hold ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’; Rahul Yatra in Bihar amid INDIA crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to host the seventh edition of the “Pariksha Pe Charcha” event at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in Delhi on Monday.

At the town-hall style event, nearly 3,000 participants selected through an online competition will interact with the PM. Two students and a teacher from each state and Union Territory have been invited, along with hundred students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), who will attend for the first time.

Organised by the Ministry of Education, Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event through which PM Modi has interacted with students, teachers and parents to address the stress associated with examinations.

After a two-day break in West Bengal, the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi resumed Sunday in Jalpaiguri district. It is expected to enter Bihar on Monday afternoon through Kishanganj district

Rahul’s Yatra is expected to cover four Bihar districts over three days, including Kishanganj, Araria and Purnia of the Seemanchal region, before returning to Bengal on January 31.

It will enter Bihar a day after Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar broke up with the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance), which includes the RJD and the Congress, to join hands with the BJP again. Nitish also took oath as the CM for ninth term – this time at the head of the NDA government again – Sunday.

While Rahul Yatra traverses Bihar, the Congress has planned a major rally in Purnia on January 30, to which RJD chief Lalu Prasad and ex-ally Nitish had been invited.
