Trump trial live: Crying potential juror says ‘this is so much more stressful than I thought it would be’

Donald Trump is back in New York Criminal Court for the fourth day of jury selection as well as a hearing in his hush money trial.

So far, the 12 jurors, and one alternate, who will be hearing evidence in the historic criminal trial have been chosen and sworn in. Five additional alternates need to be seated before opening arguments can begin.

On Friday, several potential alternate jurors raised fears about sitting on the panel due to the high-profile nature of it. One juror emotionally asked Judge Juan Merchan if she could be dismissed.

“I feel so nervous and anxious right now,” she said, saying it was “so much more stressful” than she thought it would be.

One person who was picked to be a juror asked to be recused on Thursday after her family and friends were able to identify her due to news reports. She said it would affect her ability to be impartial.

So long as no other jurors drop out or are dismissed from the panel, the first day of trial can begin as early as Monday.

One juror said he likely posted about Mr Trump “during the insurrection.”
