Today in Politics: The Arvind Kejriwal show to hit the streets of Delhi, PM Modi in Odisha
On the last day of campaign for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three election rallies in Odisha, beginning with Kandhamal at 9.30 am. He will follow this up with Bolangir at 11.30 am and then Bargarh at 1 pm. Simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be held in Odisha in four phases starting Monday.
Immediately after walking out of Tihar Jail on Friday evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced he will participate in a roadshow in South Delhi on Saturday along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor was granted interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court on Friday in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
The AAP has fielded Sahi Ram Pahalwan from the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Kejriwal will visit the Hanuman temple at Connaught Place at 11 am and address a press conference at the AAP office at 1 pm. Later on Saturday, Bhagwant Mann will campaign for AAP candidates in East and South Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address an election meeting in Kamareddy for Zaherabad candidate Suresh Kumar Shetkar. She will then proceed to Tandur in Chevella Lok Sabha constituency to address an election meeting in support of party candidate G Ranjith Reddy.
Later in the day, she will travel to Maharashtra, where she will campaign in Nandurbar, trying to revive an old party and family connection. The Gandhi family has been absent from poll campaigning in Nandurbar, once a Congress stronghold, for two successive Lok Sabha elections. The party lost the seat both times.
