Today in Politics | After Himachal RS poll shocker, buzz grows: Can Congress govt survive Finance Bill day?

The ruling Congress in Himachal Pradesh led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhusuffered a major setback Tuesday, when party candidate and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Abhishek Singhvi was defeated in the Rajya Sabha election after six party MLAs cross-voted for the Opposition BJP’s candidate Harsh Mahajan. With the six Congress MLAs cross-voting, the BJP said the Sukhu government “lost the mandate and trust”. Sukhu dismissed the BJP’s claim.
