Stephen Colbert Casts Joe Biden In A New Role To ‘Defeat The Dark Side’

Stephen Colbert on Tuesday reveled in the “Kamalamentum” after Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly secured enough delegate votes for the Democratic nomination while breaking donation records. (Watch the video below.)

“She became the presumptive nominee in 48 hours,” the “Late Show” host chirped. “To put that in perspective, it’s been more than three years and we still don’t have a new James Bond.”

Meanwhile, the comedian found a new statesman role for Biden following his withdrawal from the election,

He played a clip of Biden pledging to Harris by phone, saying he’ll do what he can to help her win. “I’m watching you, kid. I love you,” he declared.

Colbert added, “He’s an inspiring disembodied voice encouraging the next generation to defeat the dark side. He’s Joe B Wan Kenobi!”
