Social Media Skeptics Doubt Trump's Claim That Tim Walz Will 'Unleash Hell On Earth'

Donald Trump was obviously never going to say anything nice about Kamala Harris’ pick for a running mate, but his initial attack against Tim Walz still managed to impress some people with its vehemence.

In a Tuesday press release issued shortly after Harris announced Walz as her pick, the Trump campaign claimed that, if elected, the Minnesota governor would “unleash HELL ON EARTH,” putting the warning in all caps just in case the apocalyptic overtones of “hell on earth” weren’t clear.

Sure, campaign rhetoric sometimes gets a little impassioned, but many people on X, formerly Twitter, felt that Trump’s allusion to the infernal flames of Hades might be a bit, dare we say… overheated?

And, yes, a little weird.

So social media skeptics responded en masse, many including photos of the governor posing with cute animals in a manner that does not immediately suggest a servant of Lucifer.

One man noted that the Constitution does not actually empower a vice president to dismantle the membrane that separates the mortal plane from the blazing abyss of the damned.

Some people had theories as to why the Trump camp is denouncing Walz as the very embodiment of evil and sin, yea, the opener of the seven seals and rider of the pale horse.

Of course, some people had questions, including whether the Trump campaign’s release might have been written in advance and ready to go once the name of Harris’ pick was inserted.

And Republican pollster Frank Luntz pointed out that Trump’s designation of Walz as potentially “the worst VP in history” is actually sort of an indirect compliment of Harris.
