Simone Biles Rates French Food In Olympic Village. Don't Expect Michelin Stars.

The French food in the Paris Olympic village is getting no chef’s kiss from gymnast Simone Biles.

Biles and teammates were asked at a press conference about the local fare on the menu after they won gold in the team event on Tuesday.

“OK, here’s the thing. I don’t think we’re having proper French cuisine in the village like you guys might be eating because you’re outside the village,” Biles told reporters in a clip of the interview.

“For the athletes, it’s a little bit more healthier?”

“Healthier” doesn’t exactly sound delicieux.

Teammate Hezly Rivera was a tad more blunt.

“I don’t think it’s very good, at least what we’re having in the dining hall,” she said. “I definitely think French food is good, but what we’re having in there, I don’t think it’s the best. But it gets the job done.”

“I thought the pizza was good,” Biles chimed in, per NBC.

The U.S. gymnastics team members aren’t the only athletes who say the food won’t win any medals.

Haitian track and field athlete Emelia Chatfield gave the dining hall fare a 0 out of 10, calling it “disgusting.”
