‘PM campaigned for Prajwal’: Pawan Khera targets Modi on Karnataka sex abuse case

Amid relentless attacks from the Opposition over the Karnataka sex abuse tapes case, Congress leader Pawan Khera on Tuesday slammed the ruling BJP and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With MP Prajwal Revanna and his father accused of abuse, Khera questioned the Prime Minister for campaigning for him in Karnataka. Janata Dal (Secular), which has now suspended Prajwal Revanna, and the BJP have sealed an alliance for contesting polls in Karnataka.

The All India Congress Committee media and publicity department chairman while addressing a press conference at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad said,  “Last few days, you must have heard about the Karnataka scam. Prajwal Revanna… who is he? Modiji’s party’s ally. In December 2023, a BJP senior leader had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asking him not to form an alliance with the party because there were serious allegations against him. It is the world’s largest sex abuse case. He ignored his own leaders and formed an alliance and campaigned for the rape accused,” Khera stated, referring to the letter written by BJP leader Devaraj Gowda against Prajwal Revanna.

Training guns at the Prime Minister, “A few days back, the Prime Minister himself went to campaign for him. Putting his hand on his shoulder… he said good things about him. You are the Prime Minister and all agencies report to you… if you knew that there are such serious offences against this person, you are calling him as your family member. If you did not know then how are you on the PM’s chair. Only one of these can happen,” he added.
