Michelle Obama Weighs In On Simone Biles' Bowing Gesture After NFL Star Trashes It

Former U.S. first lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday praised the “sportsmanship” of gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles for bowing down to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade after she beat the Americans in the women’s floor exercise at the Paris Olympics.

Biles and Chiles, who won silver and bronze respectively in the event, playfully honored Andrade, who has come back from three ACL tears and has now won six Olympic medals in her career.

But Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey on Monday outrageously called the light moment “disgusting,” prompting severe backlash from fans.

Biles later explained on the “Today” show that she was giving a deserving competitor “their flowers.”

“We were so happy for her,” the two-time all-around champ said after an epic comeback at the Games.

Obama heartily agreed.

“I’m still not over this beautiful moment of sisterhood and sportsmanship!” she wrote on social media, alongside a photo of it. “You can just feel the love shining through these ladies. Congrats Rebeca, Jordan and Simone!”

Biles, who won three golds and a silver in Paris, and Chiles, who won a gold and a bronze, could afford to share a little love for another athlete.

As for Humphrey, the social media reaction was so severe that he conceded, “I’m lowkey getting cooked right now.”
