Kim Cattrall Has This To Say About Returning To 'And Just Like That' In The Future

Kim Cattrall is putting those “And Just Like That” rumors to bed once and for all.

The actor on Sunday had a gracious, but firm response to a report that she would be joining Max’s “Sex and the City” revival series following her much-buzzed-about cameo on the Season 2 finale.

“Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” Cattrall wrote on X, formerly Twitter, when replying to a fan who had shared a link to an Elle article that detailed the “And Just Like That” claim.

Though Cattrall had previously said she wouldn’t reappear on “And Just Like That” after her cameo, unsubstantiated reports of her involvement in the show’s third season had appeared in a number of media outlets. Production on the forthcoming season is now underway, with actors Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker frequently spotted on the New York set.

Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones on all six seasons of “Sex and the City” and its two feature films, did not reprise her role on “And Just Like That” when it premiered in 2021.

The actor had become increasingly outspoken about her disinterest in returning to the franchise after opting out of a third feature film amid reports of a behind-the-scenes feud with Parker.

To the delight of many “SATC” fans, however, Cattrall made a surprise return as Samantha at the end of Season 2, which aired last year. Her character appeared in a single scene in which she had a phone conversation with Carrie Bradshaw, played by Parker.

According to Variety, neither Parker nor showrunner Michael Patrick King were present on the set when Cattrall filmed her scene.

Cattrall would later acknowledge that it was HBO and Max’s chief content officer Casey Bloys, and not King or Parker, who had convinced her to return.
