Joy Behar Isn't Vibing With George Clooney Over His Biden Op-Ed: 'He Has To Write' That?

Joy Behar admitted she’s “mad” at George Clooney after the actor and Democratic fundraiser called on President Joe Biden to end his reelection bid in an opinion piece for The New York Times on Wednesday.

“The View” co-host pointed to the op-ed where Clooney, who helped raise over $30 million for Biden in June, wrote that he loves the president but the person he saw weeks before “wasn’t even” the person he saw in 2020.

“George Clooney, couldn’t he tell him that in person for God’s sake? He has to write an op-ed piece?” Behar asked on Thursday’s show.

She went on to flip to a clip of Jon Favreau, “Pod Save America” co-host and former Obama White House speechwriter, where he offered his takeaway on Biden at the Clooney-backed event.

“I remember my wife, Emily, turned to me after the fundraiser and said, what are we going to do?” Favreau told CNN on Wednesday.

“I mean, and I said, well, there’s a debate in a week. Either he’ll do well in the debate and we’ll think, well, he was just tired because he flew all the way back from Europe and that’ll be that or he’ll be like this at the debate and then the whole country will be talking about it. So here we are.”

“The View” proceeded to play a clip of Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison calling on Americans to “be for” Biden before Behar remarked that she doesn’t think people “understand what’s at stake” in November.

“Trump, a convicted felon, is neck and neck with a man who actually saved the economy. The World Bank said last month that the U.S. economy under Biden is boosting up the entire global economy right now, why doesn’t George Clooney mention that in his op-ed piece?” Behar asked.
