'Industry' Ramps Up Season 3 With Some Bold Moves

The wheels are coming off. At the start of this season of HBO’s “Industry,” Pierpoint took a big risk by hitching its wagon to green startup Lumi and its mercurial CEO Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington). By Sunday night’s episode, it’s clear the deal wasn’t worth the gamble. After a tense earnings call, the whole gang decamps for a climate conference in Switzerland, kicking off one of the show’s boldest episodes yet.

Eric (Ken Leung), who is being made the sacrificial lamb of the sinking ship, has a disastrous time, culminating in a panel that turns into a train wreck, when his old protégée Harper (Myha’la) goes rogue. Meanwhile, Harper and Petra (Sarah Goldberg) have struck out on their own, trying to gather some clients for their potential new venture. Yasmin (Marisa Abela) is struggling to prove her utility to Henry. And Rob (Harry Lawtey) increasingly finds himself on the outside looking in — sometimes quite literally, like having to share a room with his boss Eric, while the latter is, shall we say, occupied.

Below, we break down the twists and turns of Season 3, Episode 3 of HBO’s “Industry.”
