Hunter Biden criminal gun case sentencing set for Nov. 13, after presidential election
- Hunter Biden will be sentenced in his criminal gun case on Nov. 13, a federal judge in Delaware said.
- The order by Judge Maryellen Noreika, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, means the son of President Joe Biden will not be sentenced until after the presidential election.
- President Biden dropped out of the race last month and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the contest against the Republican Trump.
Hunter Biden will be sentenced in his criminal gun case in Delaware eight days after the 2024 presidential election, a federal judge said Friday.
Biden, the sole surviving son of President Joe Biden, will be sentenced Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. ET in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, according to the scheduling order from Judge Maryellen Noreika.
A jury in June found the 54-year-old Hunter Biden guilty of three criminal counts related to his purchase and possession of a revolver while being an illegal drug user.
He is the first child of a sitting U.S. president ever to be convicted of crimes.
Biden faces another criminal trial in September in Los Angeles federal court, where he is charged with nine counts stemming from his alleged failure to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes over several years.
