From Ram Temple event, Mohan Bhagwat calls for shunning disputes, flags rise of ‘new Bharat’

Taking upon himself the task of talking about hosh (reason) in a moment of josh (excitement), RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagat on Monday said after the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya that it was the time to end disputes and take everyone along.

“We are all children of Bharat Varsha. We have to maintain good conduct and end disputes. We have to stop the habit of fighting over things,” Bhagwat said, choosing to play a statesman-like role after the much-anticipated consecration ceremony of the Temple.

The RSS chief said that the truth was that Lord Ram resided in kan kan (every particle), adding, “So, we should all be harmonious. We should walk along with everyone else. All are ours. Compassion is important. Wherever we find that people are in grief, we should run to serve them. Not only should we save from what we earn, but also give to society from it. Others also have their beliefs that may be different from ours. It isn’t necessary that we are always correct, but even if we are, let us all stay in sanyam (restraint).”

During his speech, Bhagwat made it a point to quote Mahatma Gandhi’s words that the Earth had enough for everyone’s needs but not for everyone’s greed. He called for a social life of discipline and togetherness, saying this path would lead to Bharat becoming the “Vishwaguru”.

Crediting those who struggled for the Ram Temple for “500 years”, Bhagat said that “Ram Lalla has come to remind us of our duties”.

Saying that the experience of the consecration ceremony was “beyond words”, he said Bharat’s “swa (self)” had returned on this day, and that the Temple would signal the rise of a “new Bharat”.
