Bulge-Bar-Banging Olympic Pole Vaulter Goes Viral With Pensive TikTok Video

French Olympic pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati — of bulge-hitting-the-bar fame — appears pensive in a new TikTok video over the attention he’s receiving since that viral moment at Paris 2024.

“POV: you create more buzz for your package than for your performances,” the athlete wrote, in French, over footage of himself deep in thought while eating in the Olympic Village.

“I don’t know if I should take it well or not,” Ammirati captioned the video, alongside a crying-laughing emoji. It currently has more than 7 million views.

Ammirati gained global fame at the weekend after first his leg — followed by his manhood — dislodged the bar during qualifying.

“It’s a big disappointment,” he admitted to the French Athletics Federation.

“I was at 100% physically, but I missed a little bit of the pole,” he explained, according to a HuffPost translation. “The conditions were good. It was the first time that I attacked the competition with no stress. Because I was a total outsider, I only had one objective: to play with the public. I was almost there.”
