WASHINGTON (AP) — Nikki Haley has won the Republican primary in the District of Columbia, notching her first victory of the 2024 campaign.
The nation’s capital delivered Nikki Haley her first victory of the 2024 primary season on Sunday, ending her losing streak and providing her campaign a sliver of hope it desperately needed.
WASHINGTON – Nikki Haley on Sunday defeated Donald Trump in the GOP presidential primary in Washington, D.C., her first win against the former president.

Nikki Haley suggested Sunday that she no longer felt bound by a pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee, but did not rule out endorsing former President Donald J. Trump, even as she said she didn’t know whether he would follow the Constitution as president.

Days ahead of the Super Tuesday presidential primaries, former South Carolina governor and Republican candidate Nikki Haley said in an interview Sunday she will continue in the race for the GOP nomination as long as she remains competitive. In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press," Haley said she is not looking "too far ahead" when asked if she would drop out of the race if she loses to frontrunner and former president Donald Trump on Super Tuesday. "As long as we are competitive, as long as we are showing that there is a place for us, I'm going to continue to fight," Haley said. After primary losses in Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire, Haley trails Trump in delegates with just 27 to his 247 so far. H
