MSNBC Host Says Her Kamala Harris Interview Was Only Great For 1 Simple Reason

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle said her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris might have been perceived as refreshing mostly because it was “normal.”

The journalist spoke to MSNBC colleague Chris Hayes after interviewing the Democratic presidential nominee to reflect on their conversation. Hayes began by praising Ruhle for the “great interview,” which he described as “refreshingly substantive.”

“I think what you’re actually complimenting is that it was a normal interview, Chris,” Ruhle replied. “That’s actually what it was. It was a normal interview. It was a person running to be the president of the United States, and for 25 minutes, we talked about their vision, and we talked about policy.”

“I think that it’s just that we’re so desensitized in that so many interviews that that we do we’re forced to cover so much lunacy, or so much crazy, or so much fact-checking, or get distracted by so many issues that aren’t core policies that serve the American people,” she added, in a clear reference to former President Donald Trump and Republicans that adhere to his brand of politics. “What you saw right there was just sort of a classic interview with somebody running for president.”
