President Joe Biden called on Americans to "lower the temperature" of political rhetoric in an address from the Oval Office on Sunday night, asking for more respectful discourse and civility in the wake of the assassination attempt. Republicans are expected to enter the convention more unified, as the party rallied behind Trump.More security is expected at the four-day event, but no major changes are anticipated for the program. Several speakers were told not to change their speeches.
