He arrived yesterday in Milwaukee, where the Republican National Convention is scheduled to begin today. The FBI is investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism although a motive is still not known for the deceased shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. President Joe Biden called on Americans to "lower the temperature" of political rhetoric in an address from the Oval Office on Sunday night, asking for more respectful discourse and civility in the wake of the assassination attempt. Republicans are expected to enter the convention more unified, as the party rallied behind Trump.More security is expected at the four-day event, but no major changes are anticipated for the program. Several speakers were told not to change their speeches.
