Marianne Williamson, who ran for president in 2020 and suspended her 2024 campaign in February, has officially reentered the race. In a video Tuesday, she announced that she’s seeking to replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.
President Joe Biden is likely to appear on the ballot in Alabama after both committees in chambers of the Alabama state legislature passed legislation without opposition extending the deadline for parties to submit their officially nominated presidential tickets from Aug. 15 to Aug. 23 on Wednesday.
The secretaries of state for Alabama and Ohio sent letters to President Joe Biden’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties warning that the president may miss the deadline to be included on their states’ general election ballots, even though both states have allowed candidates to appear on the ballots in similar circumstances in the past.
